I have lost my mind this holiday season with the elf on a shelf... To the point where I am worried about what how am I going to top these things over and over again and I find myself wondering when the elves will stop coming... I know the elf is a terrible pain to many people but I actually like it, I like seeing the little faces light up when they find them doing silly things... Well ladies I am off to go make magic and forgo sleep! Good luck!!!

Crafting a go-go!!!
Well once again I start this blog post with PINTEREST!!!!! I have such a love/hate relationship with it! I feel like i should be more than able to make and even improve just about everything i find on there... let me tell you that is not my reality! So i pin and i pin and i pin and i make plenty of lists... but right now I actually do need to craft and create! Alyse has her 5th (eek I can't believe that is correct) birthday coming up and Asher has his first birthday (how is time flying by so quickly) coming up and I also needed to make birthday photo shoot props for a friend's two littles. That means I need princess decorations and Mickey mouse decorations planned out and I need to get my butt in gear for the photo prop stuff!!!! I was making a pink and gold glitter ONE for her daughter and some truck banners for her son and let me tell you what I am so thrilled with the way everything turned out, I am so in love with my #cricut and #glitterblastspraypaint I really don't know how I have lived this long without these products!!!! I am actually so pleased with these items that I am thinking that in my spare time (haha I know right) that I should be making party decorations and party planning for other people!!!! I guess let's see how the littles birthday parties go and we will go from there!!!!
Boys will be boys... or so they say
I foolishly went to Wal-Mart this weekend, the weekend before school starts and holy crow never again will I make that mistake!!! Children were running amok and having absolutely ridiculous temper fits and parents were either rolling over or screaming at their children... neither way was actually effective. That got me thinking about my least favorite saying... Boys will be boys... having a boy does not mean that you as a parent get to excuse asshole behavior just because your child has a penis. Let's get this straight... you are RAISING a person, and not just any person, you are (or should be) raising someone's husband and father, you should be raising a gentleman! Having a boy is fun, it's messy and it is work. The work begins, well at the beginning. I have 4 children and a home daycare and people continuously ask me how in the world they are so well behaved and I simply respond that it is an amazing thing to have expectations of children, that if you expect good behavior from young children (and teens) and you enforce your expectations then it shouldn't be surprising when they listen and are well behaved! I can not stress this enough to mothers of boys if you don't start them off right and have high expectations of good behavior you need to prepare yourself for the teenage years... keep in mind that these little boys who have fits or cuss or have temper fits will only get bigger and most likely bigger than you and if they don't learn respect when they are young they won't respect you when they are older.
Ok thank you for listening while I raged away for a moment... the combination of unruly children and Wal-Mart just set me right over the edge!!

Laundry mountain!
Laundry mountain!!!
Holy crow! Let me tell you laundry is getting ridiculous at this point! Every summer I think that I need to sort through each child's clothes before the school year and get more organized... well the amount of clothing is insane!!!! Which leads me to wonder just how many outfits does each kiddo really need... the answer is not 2 pairs of shorts and pants or whatever tiny numbers I have been reading online... the answer is simply whatever amount fits NEATLY in their dresser!!!!! I also wonder what is the best way to sort and organize the laundry for the littles?? Should everything be sorted into matching outfits? Or should everything be sorted by type of clothing?? And am i the only person who actually gets twisted up about these things??? I have no answer for that one lol i am going to aim for outfits for the littles i think!!! So that is my goal!! 4 kids and 2 adults worth of clothing is getting done today!!!!! Wish me luck I am going to try my best to not be swallowed up by the mountain.

Tiny house / large family tetris
Tiny house/ large family tetris.
This is what I struggle with daily. We are a family of six and we have a home daycare... we are a lot to handle lol. So I sit here on my couch with my youngest asleep on top of me while I binge watch GOT and binge search Pinterest and I am so frustrated... I see these pins and these people show their 'disasters' and 'small shared spaces' and I laugh, these rooms are not small and they must have spent thousands on each room!!! This can not be the norm, my heart wouldn't be able to stand it if this is really the normal!!! I mean where are the solutions for the regular folk who don't get to order to their hearts desire out of the pottery barn catalog???? And don't get me wrong I am not hating on pottery barn, or even the people who order everything there ( I want to be you when I grow up) but there has to be some organizational tips and ways to cram everything in a small space for those of us who are really in smaller spaces!!!!
So here I sit typing my first of what I fear will be many blog posts... please bear with me as I play an intense game of tiny house Tetris over the next few weeks... let the purging and organizing begin!!!!
